Coming to a new chiropractic office can be daunting for many, especially if this is your first time seeing a chiropractor. We offer an initial consultation to first determine if we can help with your problem.
We are going to make that transition much easier for you, outlining exactly what to expect in your first discussion with the chiropractor.
Once you have made your booking, which you can do online here, you will have an allocated time. You will receive a confirmation email prior to your first visit to confirm your time with you, answer any questions you may have, and help you with directions.
In order to gather all the information necessary to help you best, you will be asked to fill out our initial paperwork. This form outlines your current problems and asks questions about your health history and profile.
You can complete this form in the office if you choose, if so you will be asked to arrive 10 minutes before your appointment.
Otherwise, if you have a busy schedule, you can complete your initial paperwork prior to your appointment, by downloading and printing this document: INITIAL PAPERWORK.
STEP 1 – You will sit down with Casey, our Patient Specialist, and explain your current problem. Casey will ask you further questions about your health and your history to fully understand how best to help. Our number 1 priority here is to ensure you feel UNDERSTOOD.
STEP 2 – Once we have all the information about your health, Casey will review everything with Dr. Brouse. Dr. Brouse will come in and review your history and any further questions he may have and if he feels he can help you, you will proceed with your examination. The comprehensive examination will include a posture exam, neurological and orthopedic examination, plus a chiropractic examination.
Dr. John will examine your entire body as a whole, not just the area that is in pain.
STEP 3 – In order to get the full picture of your spinal health, we will check your range of motion and limitations, check each individual vertebra movement and take digital spinal x-rays if necessary to further assess your spine.
STEP 4 – Dr. John will explain your findings in an easy understandable way and go over recommendations for you to reach your health goals.
STEP 5 – First Adjustment. After the examination, if it seems that you are a candidate for chiropractic care, the chiropractor will provide your first chiropractic adjustment. Depending on you, your preferences, body type and condition, your chiropractor will use appropriate techniques. If you are not a candidate for chiropractic care, we will refer you to the person who can best help you.
STEP 6 –Your subsequent appointments will consist of treatments only. Re-examination will be performed periodically.
STEP 7- Your first adjustment and explanation of findings may occur on a second visit depending on your severity and any complicating factors and if Dr. John feels he needs more time to study your case, review your x-rays, any MRI's or CT's. He will review all your information and come up with an individualized plan of action to get you to your health goals.
